Professional Training
The Professional Training Program represents DRP's commitment to developing individuals' talents through training, performance, and community outreach opportunities. Based on a conservatory model and modified to support the development of new work, the Professional Training Program uses new work-in-progress as well as existing repertory as a basis for curriculum.
Steeped in the African-American dance/theater aesthetic, DRP's educational philosophy embodies the concept of "mentorship," transcending the teacher/student relationship to create a bond of trust that is born out of individualized attention, concern and interaction.
